Pick Your Poison

about

This song holds a special place in the heart of the band. The song itself is a nice three chord song that goes through how tough it is to quit cigarettes, but what makes it interesting is it was written by the bands previous guitarist, Liam England. Liam also features vocally and the whole thing is a very emotional song for the band as it keeps us in touch with our roots.

lyrics

Every day I wake up with my head spinning
Palms grip the porcelain and I hate the image
Drag back another one My stomach's twisting
But I find safety in the repetition.

I've been trying out new therapy where I scream till my ears bleed
Got my drugs and magazines. (still don't feel free)
Drag back another one feel you running through my veins
Gave up on clarity I'm wrecked but not insane.

They've been playing with me like you wouldn't believe
I am the receiver of all their deceit
They've been messing around like you wouldn't believe
Got my head in the clouds and I reek of defeat

I can't remember what was done or what was said
My whole world's painted out with the hollows of my head.
Dig up the flower bed sun beating on my back
I can't feel its warmth no more it's ferocious in the act --

Cuz when I head home I’m a headcase, I know.
I’m never truly alone. It’s just me, myself, and my self esteem.

So I claws until my fingers bled
At the roots beneath my feet
And I tugged them up all blood and mud (Never felt so clean)
Tore the bricks down from the wall And baked inside the light
Screaming out rebirth, rebirth My poisons tossed aside

(no more headaches, no more lungs caving in)
(I can feel the sun)

They've been messing around like you wouldn't believe
Got my head in the clouds and I reek of defeat

(no more headaches, no more lungs caving in)
